About Nestvale

How We Came to Be

Nestvale was founded in Khon Kaen in 2019 by a small group of educators and community organisers who had spent years running local adult learning programmes. What struck them, time and again, was that families arriving at these sessions — even close-knit ones — often struggled to talk to each other about anything beyond the day-to-day.

The founders noticed something else too: box after box of documents — letters, certificates, photographs, hand-written records — sitting unsorted in homes across the region. Family history was there, waiting, but no one had found a way to bring it out.

Nestvale was built in response to both of those observations. We are not counsellors. We are educators and organisers who believe that when families have practical tools and a little time together, the conversations that matter tend to find their own way out.

Today, Nestvale serves families across Khon Kaen and the wider Isan region. Our three core offerings — story sharing workshops, heritage records organisation, and the multi-session Generations Together Programme — are all rooted in the same idea: education and practical support, delivered with care, at whatever pace suits each family.

We work in English and Thai, and we adapt our approach to the rhythms and customs of families as we find them — not as we think they should be.

The People Behind Nestvale

Nattawee Phothong

Founder & Lead Educator

Nattawee has spent over fifteen years developing adult education programmes in Khon Kaen. She leads the Generations Together Programme and oversees the design of all workshop materials.

Siriporn Khonkaen

Records & Heritage Specialist

Siriporn brings a background in archival organisation and community documentation. She leads the Heritage Records service and has helped over 80 families in the region create lasting, accessible records systems.

Arthit Maneekul

Workshop Facilitator

Arthit facilitates the Family Story Sharing Workshops and brings warmth and patience to every session. He has a background in community storytelling and works in both Thai and English.

How We Work

Standards We Hold Ourselves To

Educational Clarity

Every session and service is clearly positioned as educational. We never present our work as clinical, therapeutic, or advisory — and we state this clearly at the outset of every engagement.

Privacy & Data Care

Family documents and personal information shared with us during the Heritage Records service remain confidential. We follow clear data handling practices and do not retain copies of client documents.

Respectful Facilitation

Our facilitators are trained to hold space without directing. Families lead; we support. No one is asked to share more than they feel comfortable with, and sessions are never rushed.

Bilingual Accessibility

All our programmes are available in both Thai and English. Materials are prepared in the language each family prefers, and our team is comfortable working across both throughout a session.

Continuous Improvement

After each engagement, we ask families for honest feedback. This shapes how we refine our workshop prompts, records templates, and programme content on an ongoing basis.

Community Grounding

We are part of the Khon Kaen community, not visiting it. Our content reflects local family structures, cultural rhythms, and the particular mix of generations common in Isan households.

Family Communication & Education in Khon Kaen

Nestvale works with families across Khon Kaen and the Isan region who want to spend meaningful time together and come away with something practical — a clearer conversation, an organised file of documents, or a shared understanding of how their household works across generations.

Our Family Story Sharing Workshop is a single session built around gentle prompts and listening activities. It suits families where there are stories to tell but perhaps not yet a comfortable way to tell them. The Heritage Records Organisation service is practical and hands-on: we work alongside families to sort, label, and store important papers and keepsakes in a system that anyone in the household can use. The Generations Together Programme spans multiple sessions and brings family members together to explore the ways different generations communicate, plan, and share their days.

All three services are educational in nature. We do not offer advice, assessments, or any form of clinical input. We simply provide a structured, supportive space — and the tools to make the most of the time families spend in it.
